He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago) ~Luke 1:69

The Roman emperor decreed that a census should be taken. Because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem ~Luke 2:1

Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble ~Proverbs 13:20

Let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness~Col 2:7

If you're wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life; doing good works with humility that comes from wisdom ~James 3:13

We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago ~Eph 2:10

The LORD your God is God; keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments ~Deut 7:9

When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer ~Psalms 94:19

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other. The prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results ~James 5:16

Let us run with endurance the race God set before us; keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith ~Heb 12:1

The one thing I ask of the Lord — the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life ~Psalm 27:4

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil ~Eph 6:11

So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us ~Col 1:28

Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me. Then the God of peace will be with you ~Philippians 4:9

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit ~Rom 15:13

He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him ~Proverbs 2:8

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people ~Tim 2:5-6

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord
~Romans 6:23

Don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love ~Gal 5:13

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control ~Gal 5:22-23

Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come ~1 Tim 4:8

He will swallow up death forever! The Sovereign Lord will wipe away all tears. He will remove forever all insults and mockery ~Isaiah 25:8

“I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.  Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.” ~Jesus (John 11:25-26)

God raised him to life on the third day. Then God allowed him to appear ~Acts 10:40

He was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died ~1Cor 15:6

Christ died and rose again for this very purpose—to be Lord both of the living and of the dead ~Romans 14:9

Just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you ~Romans 8:11

Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture he said, “I am thirsty." ~John 19:28

When Jesus had tasted the sour wine, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and released his spirit ~John 19:30

He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed ~Isaiah 53:5

They nailed him to the cross. Two others were crucified with him, one on either side, with Jesus between them ~John 19:18

Pilate posted a sign on the cross: “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews." The sign was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek ~John 19:19-20

The soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they put a purple robe on him. “Hail! King of the Jews!” they mocked ~Jn 19:1-3

"Take him yourselves and crucify him,” Pilate said. “I find him not guilty.” ~Jn 19:6

Judas asked, "How much will you pay me to betray Jesus to you?” And they gave him thirty pieces of silver ~Matt 26:15

Judas took the thirty pieces of silver back to the leading priests and the elders ~Matt 27:3

This fulfilled the prophecy of Jeremiah:
“They took the thirty pieces of silver—the price he was valued by the people of Israel" ~Matt 27:9

Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey ~Zec 9:9

[500 years later...]
The two disciples brought the donkey and the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over the colt, and he sat on it ~Matt 21:6-7

Jesus found a young donkey and rode on it, fulfilling the prophecy ~John 12:14

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved ~Acts 4:12

You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you ~Psalm 86:5

We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose ~Rom 8:28

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another ~1 John 4:11

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ ~2 Cor 5:21

He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins ~Eph 1:7

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life ~John 10:10

I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me ~Psalm 120:1

But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name! ~1 Peter 4:16

Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” ~Matt 19:26

What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no mind has conceived—the things God has prepared for those who love him ~1 Cor 2:9

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him ~1 John 4:9

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there ~Gal 5:24

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth ~1 John 3:18

We love each other because he loved us ~1 John 4:19

The people said,“How can you say you have seen Abraham?”
Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I AM!"~Jn 8:57

I am from above. You belong to this world; I do not. Unless you believe that I AM who I claim to be, you will die in your sins ~Jesus (John 8:23)

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, my salvation, my stronghold ~Psalm 18:2

Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts ~Psalms 119:2

People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart ~Proverbs 21:2

Do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God ~1 John 4:1

Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends ~Proverbs 17:9

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins ~1 John 4:10

Love the Lord your God and keep his commands by walking in his ways. If you do this, ...the Lord your God will bless you ~Deut 30:16

We ought to thank God for you because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing ~2 Thess 1:3

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up ~Gal 6:9

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres ~1 Cor 13: 6-7

Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit.. will reap eternal life~Gal 6:8

He is faithful in all he does. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love ~Psalm 33:4-5

Don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things... your Father already knows your needs ~Luke 12:29-31

Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor ~Proverbs 21:21

I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble ~Psalm 59:16

In that day you will sing: ♫Thank the Lord! Praise his name! Tell the nations what he has done. Let them know how mighty he is! ♫ ~Isa 12:4

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour ~1 Peter 5:8

So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead ~Romans 5:21

God’s law was given so people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s grace became more abundant ~Rom 5:20

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you" ~Hebrews 13:5

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up ~James 4:10

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth ~John 4:24

And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote"
~Isaiah 29:13

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength ~Jesus (Mark 12:30)

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy" ~1 Peter 1:15-16

How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word ~Psalm 119:9

In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father ~Matt 5:16

So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ.. you are all one ~Gal 3:26-28

Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law ~Romans 13:10

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets ~Matt 7:12

Those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him ~1 Jn 2:5

The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? ~Psalm 118:6

If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar. If we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? ~1 John 4:20

If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me ~God (Jeremiah 29:13)

If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me ~Mark 8:34

Follow God’s example as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us ~Eph 5:1-2

The Lord sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes ~Proverbs 5:21

You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden ~Matt 5:14

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path ~Psalm 119:105

"O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name!" ~1 Chron 29:13

Say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age ~Titus 2:11-12

Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! ~2 Cor 5:17

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest ~Jesus (Matthew 11:28)

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom ~Psalm 90:12

Let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most ~Heb 4:16

This is what the LORD says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past" ~Isaiah 43:16-18
